Counselling

Some people wonder what counselling is all about. It is spending quality time just for you with someone who is trained to listen, exploring your difficult thoughts and feelings. It is a process, which can help you to make sense of issues in your life, which may be adversely effecting your emotions, mental health and well-being. I will be there to help you and to work along side you through the difficult times. We will journey on this road together and try to discover the reasons for your problems and issues.

I will not judge you.

I am a gentle, caring person who is passionate about counselling and helping others.

Testimonials

“Thank you for all your help. From J. Stalybridge”

One of my clients a middle-aged woman, who had been suffering from depression and suicidal thoughts, had been attending a psychiatric unit on a regular basic for a number of years. Her specialist Dr. C. referred her for counselling. When she came to me she was presenting symptoms of low self-esteem, anxiety and depression. She could not see anything worthwhile about her life, and often spoke of “ending her life”. She could not understand how counselling could help, she came because her psychiatrist had recommended it. Over the weeks she faithfully attended I saw a steady change, and she reported to me that Dr C was delighted with her progress and had seen a vast improvement. During the time she was attending counselling she began to feel strong enough to attempt new things, and started going to computer classes. This was something she had secretly wanted to do but did not have the courage to try. She successfully gained qualifications. This encouraged her to study some more, her anxiety and depression lifted and she could at last plan for her future. Her relationship with family and friends improved and her life became exciting and worthwhile. She left counselling a stronger person and more able to tackle her every day problems.
